Program Description
The undergraduate Art minor introduces students to the diverse and hybrid practices of contemporary art. Students are exposed to a broad range of aesthetic perspectives through the department’s interdisciplinary curriculum and extensive range of faculty research. Students are encouraged to pursue interdisciplinary course opportunities campus-wide in other departments. Within the art minor, students may choose to partake in additional opportunities that make our program exceptional: internships, student exhibitions, off-campus projects, field trips, faculty assistantships, courses in the College of Creative Studies, and regular visiting artists and speakers. The core Art Minor allows you to explore any of our areas such as: oil painting, drawing, printmaking, and digital video. The Art and Technology track highlights courses that focus on programming, technology and fabrication. The Public Practice Track highlights courses that focus on public/social art installations through sculpture.
