Program Description

This degree is part of a two year program that allows students to get both a Master of Arts (MA) in Chemistry with an Emphasis in Chemical Education along with a single subject teaching credential and if desired a Master in Education. During year one of the program students will earn their Chemistry MA by: 1) taking chemistry graduate courses, 2) taking education research classes, 3) working and doing research with a science outreach program, and 4) TAing for general chemistry classes. This will allow students to develop an deep understanding of chemistry as well as STEM teaching from elementary through the college level.
