Commencement Ceremonies

Although there are four possible dates of graduation each year (March, June, September, and December), commencement ceremonies are held only once a year in June. Undergraduate students whose names are on the degree list for one of the quarters in the current calendar year (including spring, summer, and fall candidates for the degree) and who have completed or plan to complete all degree requirements, are eligible to participate in these ceremonies. Information concerning commencement will be sent to potential candidates during winter quarter. Undergraduate students with questions about commencement ceremonies are asked to phone (805) 893-8289 or visit www.ucsb.edu/commencement

Graduate students can find information and register for the Graduate Division Commencement Ceremony at www.graddiv.ucsb.edu/academic/commencement. This Web site is updated around February 1 each year. For more information, please email gradacademics@graddiv.ucsb.edu.

Please note, participating in commencement ceremonies is a separate process from Declaring Candidacy and officially graduating. Undergraduate students are required to declare their degree candidacy via GOLD, and graduate students via their home department in order to officially receive their degree.
