Political Science College of Letters and Science

Full Course Title

Gender Rights in World Politics

Course Description

This class analyzes the state of women’s rights in world politics and how to respond to global challenges. We examine themes from international relations including international political economy, global security, and migration as drivers and locations of gender rights struggles. We also consider the relationship between gender rights and the comparative politics of development, democracy, social movements, and law and society. A feminist analysis will add the complementary issues of the politics of reproduction, rights in the private sphere, and the importance of gender roles and norms as a dimension of power.
