Course Description
Politicians and public thinkers have long worried about the out-sized role that business plays in public debates. This course examines their concerns head on. How much power doesbusiness really have in shaping politics and policy in the United States and around the world? Do political institutions prioritize business interests over the public good? Does business power threaten to erode democratic institutions around the world? Or are businesses unfairly maligned political actors who work hard to support the social and economic prosperity of global publics?
