Mechanical Engineering College of Engineering

Full Course Title

Special Topics in Mechanical Engineering: Mathematical Methods in Systems and Controls

Instructor Name(s)

Bamieh

Course Description

Aims to introduce mathematical tools which are essential for understanding fundamental techniques underlying several areas of control systems, dynamics and signal processing. The course focuses on aspects of advanced linear algebra and functional analysis, specifically related to the basics of Hilbert and Banach spaces and operator theory. The theory is complemented with several examples from areas such as optimal and robust control, and estimation/filtering theory.
