Course Description

Our global food system is in crisis. Responsible for approximately a third of global greenhouse gas emissions, it leaves over a quarter of the worlds people suffering from moderate or severe food insecurity. Yet the food system also holds some of the most promising opportunities for just transition to a more sustainable and equitable society. This survey course introduces the history and structure of the global food system, pressing current challenges, and exciting potential solutions.
