Course Description
In this seminar, we examine how communication behaviors relate to constructing happiness and well-being. Topics include gratitude, forgiveness, social support, appreciation, social networks, committing to goals, taking care of your body and soul, and communicative contagion of mood intersecting with issues of dyadic, group, and interpersonal communication. Auxiliary readings come from a variety of disciplines, including psychology and sociology. This course intends to challenge students to think deeply and critically about happiness and purpose in their own lives.
