Course Description

Focuses on emerging technologies to generate energy from renewable sources, harvest waste energy, and improve the efficiency of existing energy infrastructure. Three main categories of technologies will be discussed: solar energy, thermoelectrics, and solid-state cooling. Thermodynamic principles underlying these renewable energy technologies will be analyzed in detail. Engineering challenges and economic analysis will be provided when relevant.
