Program Description
Our graduate program examines the whole of Earth's processes spanning all of space, from deep within the earth to the top of the stratosphere, and all of time, from the present to thousands of millions of year ago. Students benefit from hands-on research and class experience, conducting fieldwork from the deep sea to the tallest mountains, and conducting labwork in premiere world-class facilities. Topics include the forcings of climate change and life across Earth's history, and the science behind geohazards such as earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, and catastrophic mass wasting events.
