Program Description

The Linguistics Department's major in Language, Culture & Society and the minor in Sociocultural Linguistics are interdisciplinary degrees that focus on language in its social and cultural context, combining aspects of sociolinguistics, linguistic anthropology, communication, and related fields. We especially recommend them if you’re planning to pursue a graduate degree related to language, culture, and society and if you’re interested in careers that connect to these topics.
