Full Course Title

Neural Networks in Linguistics

Instructor Name(s)

Brehm

Course Description

An overview of symbolic modeling approaches and their use in psycholinguistics/computational linguistics. The course covers the foundational principles behind simulation-based approaches including connectionist models, PDP models, and ANN/RNN models and the insights these give us into the representations and mechanisms supporting language use in the human mind. The course also provides an opportunity to implement a simple symbolic model for the purposes of testing linguistic theory.
