Course Description
This seminar takes a critical-industrial approach to analyzing 21st century digital media culture. We survey ongoing developments related to social media, streaming media, advertising, business models, and content development, among other topics, throughout the quarter. We also look at the various stakeholders ranging from Hollywood studios, Big Tech corporations, music and gaming companies, and YOU - the user - in order to understand the forces controlling, directing, creating, obstructing, and/or unleashing whatever is on the horizon for medias future.
